“I am a CPA, am extremely busy at work, and generally have a high level of stress. I know it’s important to work out (both for physical and mental reasons). However, during tax season, I would never have time to go to the gym. For the last few years, I’ve been training at Scott’s Gym. Even during tax season, because I have an appointment, I make it my business to get there. Once I start my workout, I can feel myself letting go of some stress. Scott has been a real asset in helping me get through stressful tax seasons, keeping me physically and mentally fit.”

“I have been a client of Scott’s for 10 years now. I have only positive things to say about him. The personal training plan that he provides has led me to a better lifestyle. He has carefully designed exercise routines to meet my needs and has safely worked around my constraints. It has been and continues to be a physical and mental necessity in my life. There is nothing more essential than improving your health and fitness!”

“Scott’s Gym has been a life saver for me. After severely breaking my leg seven years ago my physical and mental health deteriorated in a variety of ways. Prior to this I worked a very physical job in construction, ran short marathons and exercised multiple times per week. After my injury this all came to a halt. I was forbidden for some time, causing me to gain weight and sink into a depression. Once I got back on my feet, I returned to Scott’s Gym. I was able to gain back my mental and physical well-being.”

“I enjoy the personal workouts for a number of reasons. Health and fitness is important to me. Working out with Scott helps to give me peace of mind- while strengthening my body, muscles, and managing my weight. One to one personal training helps me stay healthy and fit.”

“I have been a client of Scott’s Gym for several years. As a physician in my 60s, I am fully aware of the impact that the lack of physical activity can cause to a person’s body and mental health. The effect that going to the gym has on both mental and physical health, keeping Scott’s Gym vital.”

“I have been a client of Scott’s Gym for over fourteen years! I like that he focuses on one-on-one individual training. I am an older person (83 now) involved in strength building; I credit Scott for building my strength/balance to very high levels, along with my mental well being.”

“Due to the fact that I have Cerebral Palsy, I count on going to Scott’s Gym twice a week to strengthen my muscles as well as improve my balance /stability. Prior to attending Scott’s Gym, I found myself less agile due to inactivity.”

“I have been training with Scott at his gym since 2008.

Due to his many years of experience and continuing education, Scott is quickly able to assess a person’s physical strengths and weaknesses. Although he pre-plans clients’ workouts, he is adept at pivoting and making changes in order to accommodate how someone feels when they arrive. He knows when to challenge clients to achieve more and when to go lightly. He guides his clients to build their strength, endurance, flexibility, and balance - all valuable components of a healthy, active life.

He pays close attention to any physical injuries one may have. For example, even though I had a double meniscus tear, thanks to his knowledge and skills, I was able to continue working out and delayed surgery for a year. He helped build up my knee area before the surgery, which played a huge role in my successful and speedy recovery. Likewise, years later, when I needed a full knee replacement, Scott knew exactly what to do so that I would be strong enough to handle the demanding exercises that are required after that type of surgery. Each time, my targeted training allowed me to improve my physical well-being, which of course, had a positive effect on my life. Working out at “Scott’s Gym” also improves my mental well-being. When my workout is done, I’m ready to face the day with a can-do attitude. During workout sessions, Scott can also expertly discuss nutrition tips (if desired).

Scott’s Gym is a small fitness studio that offers one-on-one personalized training and counseling that is differentiated for every client's individual needs. Being physically fit allows one to perform at a high level in all areas of life. I can honestly say that training at Scott’s Gym plays an important role in achieving that goal. I highly recommend it, without hesitation.”

“Scott’s Gym has helped me mentally with all the stressful things going on in the world right now. I look forward to the two days a week I’m being personally trained. It’s one on one for 30 minutes. I feel working out should be considered essential for my mental health and well-being. I have been on this schedule with my trainer for numerous years and consider it part of living a healthy lifestyle.”

“Scott’s Gym is amazing for working out. It is a small place for only one-on-one training. It is not like those massive gyms. At 65, I have been going there for several years, due to having osteoporosis. It has helped me tremendously with strengthening my bones as well as balance and dexterity.”

Marilyn H.

“Having been diagnosed with osteoporosis at a young age, I knew that weight bearing exercises would be the best medicine for this condition!

I started with Scott in 2004. Scott’s Gym is different from a conventional gym … first and foremost is that the appointment holds me to accountability. Also, it is a controlled environment. I do not have to wait for equipment, as he structures my workouts accordingly.

I have come to learn that strength training had many other positives, helping me through the mental issues of breast cancer (2007) and thyroid cancer (2019)!

Strength training is a necessary part of my physical and mental health. Scott has helped me attain these vital aspects of my life.”

“Scott has been amazing. I'm a senior and when I started with Scott, I had problems with balance and walking distances. Scott took me from a weakened condition and shaped me into a stronger adult. His caring and understanding of the human body along with his humor and stories make training fun. He makes me want to work even harder. With every gain in my strength, I gained the ability to climb stairs and walk distances. He varies the training to make it more interesting and I look forward to every training session as I am working hard with him to continue improving my abilities.”
